On Tuesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met the heads of the regional organizations of the Farming Enterprises Association of Ukraine. The attendants of the meeting discussed the problems of the farming enterprises and possible methods of assistance to the Ukrainian landowners. Thus, at present, 42 thousand farming enterprises function in Ukraine, and UAH 20 million are allocated from the budget for their support. Landowners suppose that the said sum should be three times as much. They stressed that the majority of farming enterprises would collapse, unless the clear-cut principles of financing the agro-industrial complex were set.

Representatives of the Association are worried about the critical conditions in a number of agrarian sectors, the procedure of registration of land use agreements, spreading of raidering and insecurity of the farmers at courts.

Summing up, V.Lytvyn suggested that the farmers formalized the proposals concerning the above-mentioned problems in order to develop a coordinated action plan of the Parliament and the Government. The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to analyze the legislative acts that regulate the relations in the agro-industrial complex and determine the top-priority matters.
